Matthew attended the prestigious Manhattan School of Music on scholarship studying vibraphone with David Friedman and Bill Molenhof, Percussion with legendaries Paul Price and Fred Hinger and drum set with Kenwood Dannard and Peter Erskine. He is the creator of RHYTAMICS TECHNOLOGIES - Rhythmic Training and Solfege for All Musicians and maintains an active teaching schedule in the Central New York area. Matt has performed with diverse groups and ensembles including: The Platters, Natalie Cole, The Manhattan Philharmonic, Dave King, Loren Barrigar, Joe Whiting, Mario DeSantis Orchestra, The New Music Consort. Shows at Syracuse Stage, Merry-Go-Round Theater, Carnegie Recital Hall, Hamilton College, Ithaca College, Colgate and Salt City PAC.  Matt also showcases many of his original compositions with his own Matthew Rockwell Group (MRG).
